Olathe's growth from a 341-person town in 1860 to one of the largest cities in the Kansas City metro today means the city contains genuinely different eras of construction, not just different neighborhoods. Homes near the original downtown core, dating back toward the 1857 founding, typically sit on real wood subfloors that are excellent candidates for refinishing original hardwood.
